Sabrina Hahn is a whole lot of hort with heart – master gardener, storyteller, qualified horticulturalist with a passion for the creation of sustainable environments.

Sabrina believes with all of her heart that when people connect with their gardens, they develop a deeper love for nature and life.

Deryn Thorpe

Deryn Thorpe is a fanatical gardener, who is passionate about communicating her love of gardening to others.

She has worked as a journalist for more than 30 years, can be heard as a garden host of ABC and commercial radio talkback, writes monthly articles for Gardening Australia Magazine, a gardening column and garden stories for The West Australian newspaper and other national magazines.

Steve Wood

Steve Wood is a Horticulturist working in the nursery industry for 40 years. Owner / manager of Wood’s Cottage Nursery. Presenter with Chanel Nines Garden Gurus. Garden talk back presenter with ABC radio.
Presenter with Great Gardens and The Forever Project education programs.

Steve is a passionate organic gardener and will show you how to grow the most delicious nutrient rich produce at home.

Bob Longmore

Dr Bob Longmore, a local garden expert, is an Adjunct Associate Professor of the School of Pharmacy, Curtin University of Technology. He retired to Nannup and with his wife, Maggie, has established the property Nyth y Dryw (Welsh: Nest of the Wren) with extensive vegetable and food forest developments.

Bob has an expertise in plant natural products and a particular interest in herbal medicines. He formerly featured in the regular Curtin University Community Radio programme “Let’s Talk Gardening” for many years and now presents a gardening segment on Saturday morning’s ABC SW radio.

Johnny Prefumo

An Environmental Biologist, Johnny’s speciality is frogs and goes by the name of “The Frog Doctor”.

He presents nightwalks, talks and how to build Frog Friendly Gardens for the highly successful WA Museums’ Frog Watch program, as well as consulting to various Government Departments, Non-Government Organisations and educating students from Primary to Tertiary throughout the state.

He has featured on various radio segments and regularly co-hosts the ABC radio gardening segment ‘Roots N Shoots” with Sabrina Hahn.

If Kermit was an Aussie frog, he would sing “it isn’t easy being brown”.

Anna Gare

Considered one of Australia’s most loved female celebrity cooks, Anna has won the hearts of many people while hosting and cooking on prime time television shows.

Following her success on National television, Anna has written 3 cookbooks titled “Homemade-simply delicious food”, “Eat in” and her recent book “Delicious Everyday”. 

Anna is passionate about inspiring people to cook and enjoy healthy homemade meals.

Guy Jeffreys

Guy has worked in some of WA’s most awarded restaurants, including Leeuwin Estate and Star Anise, but his desire to work in a restaurant that grows its own vegetables led him to Millbrook Winery in 2010.

Guy grows his vegetables from seeds that have been saved from the previous year’s crop, cultivating the true paddock-to-plate philosophy. Guy’s innovative menu  is a constant reflection of what is at its best in the garden, guaranteeing the diner a truly unique experience.

Josh Whiteland

“Koomal” is the traditional name of Wadandi man Josh Whiteland. Koomal is the Wadandi word for brushtail possum and the totem chosen for him by his Wadandi Elders. Josh was born in Busselton, WA and grew up surrounded by family, culture and a deep understanding of connection to country.

Passionate, learned and spiritually aware, Josh has a personal commitment to sharing his knowledge of his culture and lore with visitors. It is for this reason he created ‘Koomal Dreaming’ so that he could communicate at least part of his connection with his land and his people with guests from around Australia and the world.

From his home base of Dunsborough, Josh provides guests with the opportunity to taste native foods, discover bush medicine, and experience traditional fire lighting.

Alysha Sladden

Alysha Sladden, one of the new generation of chefs to come out of the South West of Western Australia, is poised to extend the region’s reputation for fine dining.

Originally from Nannup, Alysha is now a pastry chef at Rustico at Hay Shed Hill in Margaret River. Long term, Alysha has ambitions to open her own restaurant where good hearty Australian food will be served in a family atmosphere.

Simon & Sarah Green

Simon & Sarah Green stumbled upon their little nook of West Australian countryside back in 2009, with the babbling Nannup Brook flowing through to the Blackwood River. This is where “Southern Forests Honey” was created.

Being 2nd generation apiarists, Simon & Sarah have spent years managing and maintaining healthy hives and exploring the depths of our beautiful South West region to locate blossoms for their busy bees, Their raw honey is as nature intended, cold-filtered, unpasteurised nor diluted, therefore maintaining its core essential health benefits.

Simon & Sarah continue to nurture their community by providing regular education sessions and gorgeous golden honey products.
