This is a workshop for competent machinists able to utilise the free-motion stitch/darning function (allowing the unrestricted movement of the fabric whilst sewing at speed). Participants must bring their own machine and a small pair of sharp embroidery scissors to Magic Molas)

Molas is a layered cutaway technique useful for creative textiles and quilting projects. It is a highly motivational and expressive technique, which will strengthen confidence in participant’s design, colour and stitch skills. Please bring a pair of small, sharp scissors for cutting fabric away, plus pins, and a range of cottons etc.

Talented Local artist Mandy Blount provides step-by-step guidance as you paint your own masterpiece in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Everything you need to paint is supplied by Mandy. One glass of bubbles on arrival and some small nibbles provided. Bring other drinks and some nibbles for the evening if you desire

Understanding the Design Principles gives improved compositional skills, because you become familiar with organising your designs and recognising their strengths and weaknesses.
We will use papier-collé (paper collage) to create a range of small, interesting works with dynamic compositions. Producing more sophisticated artworks, comes with practice, so we will maximise the tasks, to reinforce the concepts.

There is nothing like putting your heart and soul into a project which brings Joy and Happiness. Creating small sculptural forms and embellishing them with considered use of surface and coloured decoration is fun.
